Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which Universidade Católica Portuguesa, through Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics (“UCP”) collects, uses, maintains and discloses data collected, from users (each, a "User") of the myexchange.clsbe.lisboa.ucp.pt website ("Site"). This Privacy Policy applies to the Site and all products and services offered by UCP, within the scope of the MyExchange Portal (“Portal”).

Personal data and other

We may collect personal data from Users in a variety of ways. Users may be asked for, inter alia, name, email address or other personal data. Users can always refuse to supply personal data, but that may prevent them from activating an account for the purposes of using our Site and/or engaging in certain Site related activities.

We may collect other information about Users, namely non-personal data, whenever Users interact with our Site. Non-personal data may include the browser type, the type of computer, access times, referring website addresses and technical information about Users’ means of connection to our Site, such as the operating system and the Internet service providers utilized and other similar information.

Purposes of data collection

UCP may collect and use Users’ personal data within the scope of the management of activities and communications with exchange students of Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics.

How we protect your data

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorised access, involuntary loss, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal data, such as username, password, transaction information and data stored in our Site.

Please be advised, however, that while we strive to protect User information and privacy, we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you disclose or transmit to us online and there is a risk that such information may be circulated on the internet without security measures and may be in peril of being seen and used by unauthorised third parties. In this event, UCP is not responsible for the theft, destruction, or inadvertent disclosure of your personal data. In the unfortunate event that your "personal data" (as the term or similar terms are defined by any applicable law requiring notice upon a security breach) is compromised, we may notify you by email (at our sole and absolute discretion) to the last email address you have provided us in the most expedient time reasonable under the circumstances; provided, however, delays in notification may occur while we take necessary measures to determine the scope of the breach and restore reasonable integrity to the system.

Sharing your personal data and other

UCP shall not share, sell, trade, or rent Users personal data to any third parties without your express consent.

Accessing and updating personal data, as well as other information

We will provide you with the means to ensure that your personal data is correct and current.

You may, in accordance with applicable data protection legal provisions, request the access, rectification, erasure or blocking of your personal data, as well as oppose to treatment thereof, and UCP shall endeavour to do so, without excessive costs and as promptly as practical, unless UCP is required to keep such data pursuant to applicable legal provisions.

Please note that a reasonable period of time may be required to amend, delete or remove the mentioned data from the Site and/or our backup systems.

As permitted under applicable legal provisions, Users may, at any time and within reasonable criteria, request additional information concerning data collection, storage and processing practices, as well as regarding the purposes of the data collection.

Users may find advertising or other content on our Site that link to the sites and services of our partners, suppliers, advertisers, sponsors, licensors and other third parties. Browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites which have a link to our Site, is therefore subject to that website's own terms and policies.

UCP has the discretion to update this privacy policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. We encourage Users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal data we collect. Material or significant changes to the Privacy Policy shall be notified by UCP by any means deemed suitable, including by placing a specific notice or warning on the Site.
